    Refrigerator

Is there a requirement to have the refrigerator, which stores study drug, to be regularly maintained? The thermometer is routinely calibrated but does the refrigerator need to undergo routine maintenance? If so, how often? Thank you.

    Hello Masajepa,
refering to the refrigerator's manual you might consider implementing a cleaning routine to keep it running and in shape. If there is a freezer-part included a defrosting routine may be useful as well. All should be defined in an SOP. In case of a technical failure which is unlikely to occur, an emergency routine should be described, too.
    Kind regards,
    Otto

Hi Masajepa. I don't know the rules exactly but personally I check it once a year.
