The assessment on all BCRs for April 2016 to March 2017 was completed in July. This year the Inspectorate has received 299 BCRs for assessment and we are coming close to finalise the hospital blood bank sites that will require an inspection.

The hospital blood bank sites that will require inspection depends on the compliance level based on the answers provided on the BCR. Some sites will also be selected for control inspection to verify the on-going effectiveness of the BCR process. The inspection of hospital blood banks will start in October 2017. The Inspectorate is revising the methods of communication and each blood bank will be notified of the outcome of the compliance status and requirement for inspection by the end of September 2017.
