The assessment on all BCRs for April 2016 to March 2017 had been completed and all the hospital blood banks that had submitted a BCR will receive a confirmation letter by email by the end of September. The email will be sent to the Contact Name’s email address. The letter confirms the completion of the BCR assessment and a fee will be charged. An invoice will be sent from the MHRA fees section.

The level of compliance determined has been used to inform the inspection programme for 2017/18. The inspection of hospital blood banks will start in October 2017 and the sites that have been selected for inspection will be contacted by the inspectors to arrange a date in due course.
