Porter Competency

I am a porter at Bedford Hospital which has merged with Luton & Dunstable Hospital to form the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

As Porters we have always completed Competency 2 training collecting blood products from the Main Blood Bank as per HMRA regulations. Recently the Transfusion Team now want the Porters at Bedford Hospital to collect blood products from Satellite Fridges without having done Competency 3 training collection from Satellite Fridge because this is how it is done at Luton & Dunstable Hospital. Is this something the Porters at both Bedford Hospital and Luton & Dunstable Hospital should be doing without the necessary Competency training?
