    SOPs/Policies and effective dates

I am wondering what the general concensus is regarding SOPs and e-dates. We typically roll out a new procedure two weeks prior to e-date so that training is completed prior to SOP becoming effective. That being said, I realize others roll out the SOP for training on the day it becomes effective. Thoughts?

Our SOPs become effective one month after the issue date, to allow time for training. We've found this works reasonably well.

Effective dates should be set after considering the time required to train all personnel to the new SOP.
