Back up for LIMS(Telepath) and Disaster recovery
We were used to have a single server for pathology and we purchased a Disaster recovery solution from the supplier plus an annual backup verification service to prove that we could restore to another machine.
Our new contract with the supplier does not include this any longer, but we have since purchased a second server each in a different physical locations so in effect have an on-site DR solution and backup.
We do not want to fall outside what other Trusts are doing to comply with requirements that we have a working backup. I wonder if being able to fail over to the other server on an annual basis is sufficient to satisfy MHRA requirements on ‘testing our backup’ or if it really means can you build a completely new system from scratch?
An inspectorate view would be deeply appreciated. Thank you

Hi Hnabakka
Probably best if you contact Mike Dawe- providing advice on this sort of thing is part of his role, and we wouldn't want him to be bored! Perhaps you could post his reply on the Forum to enlighten us all?
