    Oxehealth

    Hi

Do any other trusts have experience with the Oxehealth patient monitoring technology, the device uses cameras/sensors to monitor patient movement as well as taking pulse and respiratory readings when required. We currently use this within or seclusion rooms within mental health. The only part of this device classed as a medical device is the software. To offer the trust assurance that the pulse and respiration readings are accurate the medical device department are trying to test the functions of the device but so far have been unable to due to there being no set test procedure or accessible route to connect to the device. Oxehealth assure us no testing is required as the readings are produced via an algorithm, this causes concern as in April a FSN was released identifying pulse rates may incorrectly be recorded. This led to us unsuccessfully exploring ways at which we can test the system for the assurance.

    Thanks

Does anyone know what stage Oxehealth is currently at with MHRA approval and whether it’s being actively used in NHS settings yet? I’m also curious how their camera-based monitoring compares in accuracy to wearable devices in real clinical use.
